"Le Chiavi di Casa" (the keys to the house) is an Italian Film that was inspired by the novel of Giuseppe Pontiggia entitled "Born Twice". As strange as it sounds, i cannot believe that this is the fourth Film so far that made me cry. Partly i can relate to it because Ive been exposed to different kinds of people through being a Rotaractor and a nursing student. Watching the movie flashed back my memory when I was on duty at the Iligan Developmental Play House of where special children are being cared and taught in a different phase. The movie in a way gets you to realize that sometimes, the key to love is to open one’s heart.

"Le Chiavi di Casa" is a touching story of a young father forging a relationship with his handicapped son, whom he meets for the first time as a teenager; a father and son love story that every mother would die for. Having suffered a traumatic birth, the child is disabled both physically and psychologically and must travel to a special hospital in Berlin for rehabilitation. The Father accompanies the boy in the hopes of getting to know his estranged son, meets an elderly lady, a strong woman dedicating herself entirely to the care of her handicapped daughter. Through their conversations, the Lady helps the Father come to terms with the guilt of having abandoned his son. The revelation results in an unexpected and fragile happiness between Father and Son discovering each other and themselves in a piece far from home.
